Texas Precious Metals: Logistics Coordinator

Job Description:

Primary Function:

Lead a logistics team and manage regular inflows of high value material from locations across the nation to Texas Precious Metals Depository.    

Position Responsibilities: (including but not limited to):

  • Coordinate shipping of regular and large inflows of material to TPMD
  • Execute accountability and verification of material in a timely manner to concerned parties
  • Communicate routinely with second- and third-party entities in performance of duties
  • Lead a team to conduct inbound and outbound package processing/handling
  • Prepare work schedules for contractors and monitor work
  • Process abnormal orders to ensure each is handled to specific instructions
  • Manage ERP system to ensure data accurately reflects physical positions
  • Coordinate and lead inventory audits
  • Monitor shipping backlog and inventory to ensure all packages are processed within required time constraints
  • Manage and order shipping supplies as needed
  • Maintain clean, orderly facility and ensure that safety equipment meets protocols
  • Miscellaneous “shared” tasks required for operations of small company

Skills:

  • Proper gun safety and training; Texas LTC license required (can be acquired after hiring)
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken formats
  • Intermediate computer software skills (MS Office)
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral forms
  • Ability to work cooperatively with team and management
  • Ability to maintain a neat and clean work environment and personal appearance

Qualifications:

  • Some college coursework preferred
  • Some logistics experience helpful, but not required
  • Must be highly detail oriented, focused, dependable, and trustworthy

Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of sitting and/or walking (33% – 75% of time)
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, leaning (10% – 25% of time)
  • Lifting of 40 lbs. occasionally (0% – 33% of time)

Work Environment:

  • Typically, inside a climate-controlled office and is required to occasionally move from office to manufacturing areas and outdoors to perform duties
  • May be exposed to manufacturing environment where the use and wear of proper protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses or side shields on glasses and closed toe shoes are mandatory
