Primary Function:
Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, all machinery and equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production CNC machines and equipment using power tools, hand tools and precision-measuring and testing instruments
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), receive work orders, identify faulty equipment, and acquire parts and equipment to complete repairs
- Repair production equipment from basic hydraulic equipment to complex CNC machinery, performing both electrical and mechanical work
- Troubleshoot and analyze electronic and mechanical problems
- Communicate accurately, concisely, and professionally with customers as to ensure important repair steps taken, parts ordered, and time estimated until completion
- Participate in daily shift meetings, prioritize and review work orders to schedule daily work
- Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
- Consult with outside vendors when needed to enable full operation of all machinery
- Use schematics, diagrams and blueprints during the course of work
- Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools
- Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, levels and straightedges
- Repair critical equipment, perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and complete projects such as mechanical and electrical hardware and software upgrades
- Travel up to 25% of time may be required
- All other duties assigned by management
Skills:
- Mechanical and problem solving skills required
- Flexibility when working with various employees and managers
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years experience servicing CNC machinery required
- Preferred experience with HAAS, DOOSAN, and MATSUURA machines and their control systems
- Knowledge in OSHA standards related to operation of equipment safety
- Must possess 5 year driving record with clear history for the past three years
- Mid to high level break-fix & preventative maintenance experience required
- Experience with advanced PLC and/or robotics and/or CNC repair
- Understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems
- Ability to perform electronic, mechanical and hydraulic repairs used in electrical and mechanical maintenance technician work assignments
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand up to ten (10) hours daily (67-100%)
- Must be able to obtain parts and supplies 10-50 feet away less than 1 hour per day
- Must be able to walk, climb, reach, stoop, bend, kneel, squat and twist waist frequently (34-66%)
- Must be able to rotate wrists and shoulders frequently (34%-66%)
- Must be able to use hands for repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling and manipulation (34-66%)
- Must be able to use foot for repetitive movement as in operating foot controls (0-33%)
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently (34-66%) and 75 pounds assisted (team manual lift or with hoist) lift occasionally (0-33%) from one (1) to four (4 ) feet levels
- Must be able to carry 50 pounds occasionally (0-33%) from 10 to 60 feet distances
- Must be able to push and pull a pallet jack weighing from 200 to 2000 pounds and up to 4000 pounds with team manual assistance (0-33%)
